Tanzania Simba SC part ways with striker Michael Kouablan as keeper Aishi Manula returns

Tanzania Premier League giants Simba Sports Club have officially parted ways with striker Freddy Michael Kouablan after reaching a mutual agreement, marking the end of the Ivorian forward’s brief seven-month stint with the club.

As reported by the Guardian, Kouablan who joined Simba in January from Zambia’s Green Eagles FC, had been a highly regarded acquisition, having been the top scorer in the Zambian league at the time of his signing.

During his short tenure with the Tanzanian giants, Kouablan made a notable impact by scoring 11 goals across all competitions, including six in the Premier League.

Despite his contributions, the club’s coaching staff, led by head coach Fadlu Davids, decided that Kouablan would not be part of their plans moving forward. The decision to release Kouablan follows Simba’s recent signing of striker Lionel Ateba from USM Alger, one of Algeria’s top-tier clubs. Ateba, who has signed a two-year deal with Simba, is seen as Kouablan’s replacement.

His arrival was strongly recommended by Davids, who is focused on bolstering the team’s attack for the upcoming season.

After evaluating the squad, Davids determined that Ateba would bring a fresh dynamic to Simba’s forward line, prompting the decision to move on from Kouablan.

In another significant development, Simba have completed the transfer of midfielder Awesu Awesu from Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) FC. Although there were initial issues with Awesu’s registration, these have now been resolved, allowing the transfer to proceed smoothly.

KMC FC have officially bid farewell to Awesu, wishing him success in his new role at Simba. The club’s goalkeeping department has also seen changes, with the return of Aishi Manula to the squad.
