2026 FIFA World Cup: Quahbi and Saibari reflect on Morocco’s win

Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi expressed satisfaction with his Atlas Lions’ outstanding performance against Scotland in their second group-stage World Cup game.

Ouahbi emphasized that the team is determined to keep pushing forward.

“We continue,” he told beIN Sports. “It was a great game. Scotland and their great talent,” he said, stating that the Atlas Lions will continue their momentum and hard work.

“Saibari scored two goals, I hope we continue with this same spirit,” he added. When he was asked what he did to build cohesion in this group, with all modesty, Ouahbi said the group was already there, stating that he and his staff only added more youth to the team.

He also expressed pride in being part of the Atlas Lions. “It’s natural, the players are very happy and they are happy for Saibari to earn the Man of the Match,” Ouahbi said.

Ismael Saibari scored his goal 72 seconds into the start of the game, becoming the fastest in this World Cup 2026.

In his remarks to beIN Sports after the game, Saibari said he feels very good. “Four points, top of the group, so it was a nice game. We have the same goal and same dream, we work together and we are like family. We always want to win every game,” Saibari said.
