DR Congo international Willy Kambwala is reportedly on course to leave Villarreal and join Italian side Como, with Manchester United set to benefit from the transfer.
The 21 year old centre back, who came through the ranks at Manchester United, is expected to complete a move to Como as the Italian club look to strengthen their defensive options.
United are understood to have retained a sizeable sell on clause in Kambwala’s contract following his departure from Old Trafford. That clause could now provide the Premier League club with a significant financial return if the defender’s move to Como is completed.
Kambwala joined Villarreal after leaving Manchester United and has continued to develop his career in European football.
His potential move to Como would represent another step in the young defender’s career as he looks to establish himself at the highest level.
