Terem Moffi has officially left OGC Nice and joined Hamburg on a permanent transfer. The 27-year-old Nigerian striker successfully completed his medical before signing a three-year contract with the German club.
Nice will receive โฌ2.5 million, including โฌ500,000 in bonuses, while also freeing up a significant portion of its wage bill, with Moffi earning around โฌ295,000 per month. His departure closes a chapter that had become increasingly difficult as he fell out of favor with the club.
Moffi leaves Nice after a promising start that saw him score 17 goals during his first season and a half on the French Riviera. However, injuries then disrupted his progress, while tensions with several coaches, the management and some supporters further complicated his situation. His relationship with sections of the Nice fanbase deteriorated significantly, eventually leading to his exclusion from the squad.
Hamburg now gives the Nigerian international a fresh opportunity to revive his career in the Bundesliga and leave his difficult spell in France behind.
