Paris Saint-Germain have provided a fresh update on Achraf Hakimi after the Morocco international suffered a minor right thigh injury during the 1–0 win at Brest on September 13.
Hakimi left the pitch in the 39th minute after starting all four of PSG’s Ligue 1 matches this season. The club initially placed him under treatment for two days before reassessing his condition.
The latest update offers some encouragement. PSG confirmed on Thursday that Hakimi has started individual work on the pitch as part of his recovery programme. The 27-year-old therefore continues to progress after the injury, although the club has not yet confirmed whether he will return in time for Sunday’s trip to Marseille.
PSG will likely assess Hakimi again before making a final decision on his availability for Le Classique. The right-back remains an important part of Luis Enrique’s team, having featured in every Ligue 1 match this season before his early exit against Brest.
