Mozambique delivered an emphatic second-half performance to secure a commanding 4–1 victory over Sudan, driven by a blistering attacking display and standout individual contributions.
Building on their 1–0 lead established in the 24th minute through Witi’s opener—assisted by Guima—Mozambique wasted no time doubling their advantage after the break. Just two minutes into the second half, Chamito found the back of the net in the 47th minute to make it 2–0.
Guima, who had already set up the opening goal, capped off a star performance by scoring Mozambique’s third goal in the 58th minute following a neat setup by Candinho. Four minutes later, Chamito struck again in the 62nd minute to complete his brace and extend Mozambique’s lead to a formidable 4–0.
The match also saw its share of physical play and disciplinary action, with the referee issuing four yellow cards—split two apiece. Mozambique’s Alfons Amade was cautioned in the 50th minute for a foul, while Guima picked up a booking in the 72nd minute for an argument. Sudan’s Ahmed Tab… and Ammar Taif received yellow cards in the 54th and 80th minutes for arguing and committing a foul, respectively.
Sudan managed to claim a late consolation goal in the 88th minute when Yasin Hamed calmly converted a penalty kick, denying Mozambique a clean sheet. However, the late strike did little to alter the outcome as Mozambique comfortably closed out a dominant 4–1 win.
