Gor Mahia continued the impressive start to the new SportPesa League season after edging Bandari 1-0 at Nyayo National Stadium, with Alpha Onyango once again proving decisive for the record Kenyan champions.
Onyango found the back of the net for the 67th minute and second consecutive match this season, handing K’Ogalo a crucial victory that lifted them to nine points and maintained their 100 per cent record.
The midfielder’s latest strike came after his impressive scoring contribution in Gor Mahia’s previous match, underlining his growing influence as the club seeks to build momentum in the early stages of the campaign.
The narrow victory also demonstrated Gor Mahia’s ability to grind out results in a competitive encounter, with the Green Army holding on to their advantage to secure all three points against a determined Bandari side.
For Gor Mahia, the result represents another important step in their pursuit of domestic success, as they continue to combine attacking efficiency with the consistency required to remain among the early pace-setters.
With nine points from the opening three matches, K’Ogalo have made an emphatic statement of intent, maintaining a perfect start as they look to build a strong foundation for the season ahead.
