Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has successfully undergone surgery in London to repair a ruptured tendon in his left hip.
The Nigerian international underwent the procedure to repair damage to the tendon of the tensor fasciae latae muscle in his left hip.
Following the successful operation, Chukwueze is expected to return to Milan, where he will begin his rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the club’s medical team.
Although the exact duration of his recovery has not been disclosed, the winger will now focus on rehabilitation as he works towards regaining full fitness and returning to competitive football.
The injury and subsequent surgery represent a setback for the 26-year-old, who has been an important attacking option for club and country.
Chukwueze, known for his pace, dribbling ability and attacking creativity, has established himself as one of Nigeria’s prominent football exports, having previously featured for Villarreal in Spain before moving to AC Milan in Italy.
His recovery will be closely monitored, particularly by the Super Eagles, as Nigeria continues to prepare for upcoming international assignments.
For now, the priority will be a successful rehabilitation process, with the player aiming to return to full fitness without rushing his recovery.
Further updates on his condition and expected return to action are anticipated from the club.
