Controversy is brewing in Kenyan football as referee Isaac Hamisi comes under fire for alleged poor officiating during the Mozart Cup clash between Shabana FC and Kakamega Homeboyz, held on Sunday at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
Hamisi who ruled out Shabana’s 92nd minute goal for a free kick for Shabana is not new to controversy. Fans and football stakeholders have accused Hamisi of bias, claiming he denied Shabana FC a clear goal, a decision many believe directly influenced the outcome of the match, which ended 1-0 in favour of Homeboyz.
Some fans have gone further to allege that Hamisi is being used by individuals linked to the former regime at Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to sabotage the integrity of the Kenya football League.
Kenyan football fans have since taken to social media platforms to voice their frustrations and demand accountability, calling for investigations into Hamisi’s decisions and his role in the ongoing league fixtures.
Neither Hamisi nor the FKF have issued an official response to the allegations at the time of this report.
