Africa Top Sports has unveiled its Best XI of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage, lining up the continent’s standout performers in an attacking 4-3-3 formation after a thrilling opening phase of the tournament.

Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha takes his place between the posts after producing a string of crucial saves to inspire his nation’s progression to the knockout rounds.

The back four features Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi at right-back, Côte d’Ivoire’s Emmanuel Agbadou and DR Congo veteran Chancel Mbemba in central defence, while Egypt’s Ahmed Fotouh occupies the left-back position following a series of composed and energetic performances.

In midfield, Côte d’Ivoire’s Franck Kessié anchors the side, with Morocco’s emerging star Neil El Aynaoui Bouaddi and Algeria’s gifted playmaker Ibrahim Maza providing creativity, balance and drive in the engine room.

The front three is led by DR Congo’s Yoane Wissa through the middle, flanked by Morocco’s Ismael Saibari on the right and Senegal’s Ismaïla Sarr on the left, forming a dynamic attacking trio that consistently troubled opposition defences throughout the group stage.

Morocco’s Mohamed Ouahbi was named Coach of the Group Stage after masterminding the Atlas Lions’ impressive unbeaten run, earning widespread praise for his tactical discipline and progressive style of football.

With representatives from seven African nations, the Africa Top Sports Best XI highlights the exceptional quality displayed by the continent during the group stage and sets the stage for an exciting knockout phase.
