Malawi captain Tabitha Chawinga has expressed admiration for Ghana’s quality but remains confident the Scorchers will come out on top in their WAFCON quarterfinal meeting.
The prolific forward, who is widely regarded as one of Africa’s finest talents, highlighted her familiarity with several Ghanaian players while backing her team to rise to the occasion.
“I know some of the players from Ghana. They have a good team, good squad. But I hope by the end of tomorrow, it’ll be Malawi that’s celebrating,” she said.
Chawinga’s belief reflects the growing confidence within the Malawi camp as they prepare for one of their biggest matches in recent history.
