Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have concluded their three-game exhibition series against the Chinese women’s national team in Foshan as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
The final game in Foshan brought the exhibition series to an end, giving the Nigerian side another valuable opportunity to test their squad, sharpen their tactical approach and assess their readiness against quality international opposition.
The three-game series formed part of D’Tigress’ build-up programme for the global tournament, providing the coaching crew with useful match experience as the team continues to fine-tune its preparations.
Following the conclusion of the China assignment, D’Tigress will now travel to Spain, where they are scheduled to play more preparatory matches ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
The Spanish leg of the preparations is expected to provide another stern test for the African champions, with the team looking to build momentum and cohesion before the start of the World Cup.
The coaching staff will also have an opportunity to further assess players, work on combinations and address areas that require improvement before the tournament gets underway.
The D’Tigress campaign remains firmly focused on Berlin, the host city for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, with the team continuing its journey under the hashtag #RoadtoBerlin.
With the China series now completed, attention shifts to Spain as Nigeria steps up preparations for another major international challenge and aims to make a strong impression on the world stage.
