Football Kenya Federation’s (FKF) nationwide U15 talent identification and assessment programme is entering its final phase, with the Federation set to bring together the country’s most promising young boys and girls for a final assessment ahead of key international assignments.
Over the past eight months, more than 1,000 players have been identified and assessed by FKF-trained coaches and scouts through various talent identification activities held across the country. The players have subsequently been registered in the Federation’s talent database, providing a structured pool from which to identify and develop future national team players.
As part of the next phase of the programme, FKF has conducted a two-day further assessment exercise at various centres across the country. The exercise brought together players who had previously been identified through the nationwide scouting programme, allowing the technical team to conduct more detailed assessments of their abilities and potential.
The assessments focused on key technical, tactical and physical attributes, as well as the players’ overall suitability for the next stage of the national team talent pathway.
Following the completion of the regional assessments, 40 boys and 40 girls will be selected to attend a national camp at Kabarak, where they will undergo a final assessment by the FKF technical team.
The Kabarak camp will be the final stage of the selection process, with the technical team expected to name the U15 boys’ and girls’ squads that will represent Kenya in upcoming international assignments, including the CAF African Schools Football Championship 2026 and the 2026 FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival.
The programme is part of FKF’s continued investment in structured youth development and talent identification, ensuring that promising players from across the country are given an opportunity to progress through a clear national pathway.
By taking the scouting process to different parts of the country and maintaining a centralised talent database, FKF is seeking to broaden the pool of players available for national team selection while ensuring that talent from different regions has an opportunity to be identified and assessed.
The Kabarak camp will mark the final stage of the U15 selection process, with FKF set to name the squads that will represent Kenya in the upcoming international competitions.
