Aston Villa have made a €70 million offer, including bonuses, to Chelsea for Nicolas Jackson. The Senegalese striker returned to London after Bayern Munich ended his loan spell, but Chelsea no longer count on him.
Villa see Jackson as a priority target after a difficult start to the season, including a 4-0 defeat against Brighton and uncertainty surrounding Ollie Watkins’ future. Chelsea had initially valued Jackson at around €75 million, but the two clubs now appear close to an agreement.
Villa are also exploring a deal for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his attack. The club already saw a €22 million offer for the Frenchman rejected, but they remain interested. With Jackson now close to joining and Mateta also on their radar, Villa want to rebuild their attack quickly ahead of their next Premier League match against Arsenal and their return to the Champions League.
