The Liberia Football Association, on 7 April officially climaxed the CAF ‘D’ Diploma Coaching Course for former national team players and others.
With over 100 participants divided into two batches, the course was solely focused on grassroots football development, as it is set by CAF teaching curriculum.
Speaking during the program, LFA President Mustapha Raji highlighted the importance of supporting former national team players and providing them with the opportunity to grow in coaching.
President Raji also extended thanks to FIFA, CAF and the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) for the support provided for the actualization of the training program.
“This is a combination of support from the FIFA Forward Programme and another part to the development fund received from the Liberia Maritime Authority. We were able to support life after football program specific to our former national team players at zero cost for the course,” Raji said.
He reaffirmed the LFA’s to providing additional training training opportunities at all levels football development and also called on the Ministry of Youth and Sports to to integrate more former national team players into its programs.
Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, G. Andy Quamie, in a brief remark at the event congratulated the participants and urged them to remain professional and focused in their aspiring coaching journey.
CAF ‘D’ Diploma Coaching Course served as an entry-level coaching qualification focused on grassroots and youth football development. It is designed to equip beginner coached with the fundamental technical, tactical, and managerial skills needed to effectively train young players.
