CAFCC: Red Arrows for Kaizer Chiefs return leg – Kalililo Kakonje

Red Arrows Football Club 1st Assistant Coach Kalililo Kakonje has declared the Airmen ready for tomorrow’s decisive CAF Confederation Cup second round, second leg encounter against South African’s Kaizer Chiefs in Durban at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Airmen head into the return fixture with a vital 1- 0 advantage following their first leg victory at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. Kakonje said the team had prepared adequately for the continental assignment and remained determined to finish the job against their formidable opponents.

He said the Airmen are targeting a historic qualification for the group stage, with the club keen to become one of five Zambian representatives to progress to that phase of continental competition. Kalililo added that beyond securing passage to the group stage, the Airmen are also motivated by the desire to make the Zambia Air Force Command and the nation proud through a strong performance in Durban.

“We are ready for the game. We know what is at stake and the boys understand the responsibility that comes with representing Red Arrows, Zambia Air Force and Zambia on the continental stage,” Kakonje said.

The Air Force Commander, Lt Gen Oscar Musitu Nyoni, on Tuesday visted Arrows in training and rallied the team and urged the players to believe in their ability, embrace the challenge and deliver a positive result.

A place in the group stage would mark a significant milestone for Red Arrows and strengthen Zambia’s presence in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The decisive encounter is scheduled for tomorrow Friday, 23 October 2026, at 18h00 CAT in Durban, South Africa.
