Enugu Rangers continued their positive run in the 2026/27 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a 4-2 victory over Kun Khalifat, while Enyimba suffered another defeat and Doma United’s perfect start came to an end on Matchday 4.
The fourth matchday of the Euromatch NPFL produced goals, away victories and a major change at the top of the early-season storyline, as Doma United finally tasted defeat after winning their opening three matches.
Rangers, meanwhile, strengthened their position with another victory, while Enyimba’s difficult beginning to the campaign continued with a 1-0 home defeat to newly promoted Inter Lagos.
Rangers Maintain Momentum With 4-2 Win
Defending champions Enugu Rangers continued their campaign with an impressive 4-2 away victory over Kun Khalifat at the Enyimba Stadium.
The result means Rangers have now won their last two league matches after defeating Nasarawa United 2-1 in their rearranged Matchday 3 fixture on September 17.
The club therefore entered Matchday 4 with a win already recorded rather than being winless after three games.
Rangers fell behind when Preye Seikorowei put Kun Khalifat ahead in the 40th minute, but the champions responded strongly.
Temitope Folarin equalised for Rangers in the 27th minute, before Waheed Adebayo restored their advantage shortly before half-time.
Chimobi Igwilo extended Rangers’ lead in the 66th minute, while Kun Khalifat reduced the deficit through Ayuba Umar in the 84th minute.
Igwilo then completed his brace in stoppage
time to seal a 4-2 victory for Rangers.
The result keeps the defending champions moving in the right direction after an opening phase that included a mixture of results.
Rangers’ next league assignment will be against Ranchers Bees on September 23.
Enyimba’s Winless Start Continues
While Rangers are gathering momentum, Enyimba’s early-season problems deepened at home.
The Aba giants were beaten 1-0 by Inter Lagos, with Ezekiel Moses scoring the only goal of the encounter in the 18th minute.
Enyimba went into the fixture without a victory in their opening three league appearances and were unable to change that record in front of their home supporters.
The defeat leaves the nine-time Nigerian league champions still searching for their first win of the campaign and increases the pressure on the team to respond quickly.
Enyimba had lost to Niger Tornadoes on Matchday 1 and subsequently suffered a 2-0 defeat to Doma United before the Inter Lagos loss.
Enyimba will have another home opportunity on September 23 when they face Sporting Lagos in their outstanding Matchday 5 fixture.
Doma United’s Perfect Start Comes to an End
Doma United’s dream start to the 2026/27 NPFL season finally came to an end in Kano, where they were beaten 4-1 by Kano Pillars.
The Gombe-based side had won each of their first three matches, including victories over Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos and Enyimba.
They had also kept three consecutive clean sheets before their trip to Kano.
Kano Pillars ended that impressive run with a dominant performance.
Abdullahi Musa opened the scoring in the 20th minute before veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali doubled the advantage seven minutes later.
Doma United pulled one back through Sadiq Rilwan in the 53rd minute, briefly giving the visitors hope of a comeback.
However, Kano Pillars remained in control, with Ahmed Musa scoring in the 77th minute before Nasiru Salihu added a fourth goal in the 90th minute.
The 4-1 defeat ended Doma United’s three-match winning streak and their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Despite the setback, Doma’s opening three victories had already established them as one of the early-season surprise packages in the Euromatch NPFL.
Their next challenge comes against Plateau United on September 23.
Warri Wolves Edge Kwara United
Warri Wolves secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kwara United at the Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro.
Ejike Ezekiel scored the only goal of the match in the eighth minute to give the home side all three points.
The victory provides an important boost for Wolves as they continue their campaign after a difficult start to the season.
Abia Warriors Beat Sporting Lagos
Abia Warriors secured an impressive 2-0 away victory over Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
Ikoi Etta opened the scoring in the 88th minute before Emeka Obioma added a second goal in stoppage time.
The late double gave Abia Warriors all three points and completed a dramatic finish in Lagos.
Plateau United Defeat Shooting Stars
Plateau United came from behind to defeat Shooting Stars 3-1 in Jos.
Taheer Abubakar gave Shooting Stars an early lead in the 15th minute, but Plateau United produced a strong second-half response.
Jibrin Ibrahim equalised in the 50th minute before Seiyefa Jackson put Plateau United ahead in the 71st minute.
Gideon Monday completed the comeback with the third goal in the 86th minute.
Other Matchday 4 Results
Elsewhere, Katsina United defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0, with Abdulrahman Garba scoring in the 21st minute.
Ranchers Bees beat Bendel Insurance 2-1, while Ikorodu City and Barau FC played out a goalless draw.
In Lafia, Nasarawa United and Rivers United shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
Rivers United took the lead in the 66th minute through an own goal by Harrison Ebah, before Musa Yakubu converted a penalty in the 84th minute to restore parity.

Matchday 4 has significantly reshaped the early-season picture.
Doma United’s perfect record has disappeared, while Rangers have followed their 2-1 win over Nasarawa United with another victory and are beginning to build momentum.

With several teams still having outstanding fixtures because of the league’s adjusted schedule, the early table remains subject to change.
