Ghana’s Black Princesses suffered a disappointing start to their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign after losing 3-0 to Ecuador in their opening Group C fixture in Poland.
Ecuador took control early, with Rosa Flores opening the scoring after just four minutes with a spectacular long-range effort.
Ghana came close to an equaliser when Agnes Yeboah struck the post, but Ecuador doubled their advantage in the 17th minute through Domenica Arboleda.
Arboleda completed her brace in the 69th minute to seal a convincing victory for Ecuador and leave Ghana without a point after their opening game.
The Black Princesses must now regroup quickly, with their next Group C match against South Korea scheduled for Wednesday, September 9.
