Asante Kotoko ended their season on a disappointing note after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Swedru All Blacks at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The Porcupine Warriors failed to capitalize on a first-half lead as the visitors produced a spirited comeback.
Kotoko took the lead just before halftime when Clement Tutu accidentally turned the ball into his own net in the 45th minute under pressure from the home side. The goal gave Kotoko momentum heading into the break and appeared to put them in control of the contest.
However, Swedru All Blacks returned with renewed determination in the second half and equalized through Rudolph Mensah in the 56th minute. The visitors continued to threaten on the counterattack and completed the turnaround in the 68th minute when William Danquah calmly finished to stun the Baba Yara crowd.
Kotoko pushed forward in search of an equalizer but struggled to break down a disciplined All Blacks defense. The defeat left Kotoko in eighth place with 49 points after an inconsistent campaign that saw them fall well short of title expectations.
Swedru All Blacks, meanwhile, climbed to 14th position with 45 points thanks to the valuable away victory, ending their season with renewed confidence after a difficult campaign.
