Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty of breaching the majority of the 115 financial rules they were accused of violating, with an independent panel said to have reached its decision after an extensive hearing.
According to reports, the panel found City guilty on all but one of the counts under consideration. However, no sanctions have yet been determined, with the process still ongoing.
The Premier League declined to comment on the reported development, while Manchester City also did not directly confirm or deny the findings.
Instead, the club issued a statement stressing that the Premier League’s disciplinary process remains incomplete and subject to confidentiality.
“The Premier League process remains ongoing with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality,” City said.
The club also reiterated its concerns about the handling of the case, stating that it had “diligently respected due process for eight years” on the expectation that the Premier League Board and Executive would act as an “independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence.”
The reported findings now leave the case at a critical stage, with the independent panel still required to determine any potential sanctions before the process is concluded.
