On July 28, 2025, RS Berkane officially announced the end of its partnership with Burkinabe defender Issoufou Dayo, after a decade marked by numerous trophies and unwavering loyalty.
After arriving in 2015 from Vita Club in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Etalon quickly established himself as one of the leaders in the locker room.
He contributed greatly to the club’s successes, notably by helping it win several national and continental titles.
One year after his departure, the former vice-captain of the Etalons could be making a return to the Moroccan club.
RS Berkane is hoping to bring back its former captain for his experience and is very eager to welcome him for the 2026–2027 season.
Preliminary discussions have taken place between Dayo and his former club officials. Despite his move to Umm Salal in Ivory Coast, Dayo would occasionally return to Berkane to visit his former teammates.
