Uganda Premier League: NEC, Lugazi and Entebbe UPPC aim to stay perfect

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League enters round two with two matches opening on Tuesday.

At MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo, NEC and Lugazi who both managed wins on day one lock horns. NEC were 2-0 winners over thirteen champions KCCA while Lugazi overcame new comers Kigezi Home Boyz 2-1 at Lugazi.

Both will aim to build on that impressive start when they face off although the hosts will be favourites coming into the game. Muhammad Kagawa Senoga has been ruled out after getting a knock for NEC but the rest of the squad is available for selection by Badru Kaddu.

On the other hand, Lugazi head coach Kikomeko has confirmed Abdul Kalanzi as the only absentee.

The Bugolobi based side also holds a better head-to-head record with four wins against one in the previous five meetings. At Hamz stadium, Nakivubo, fresh from stunning Vipers 1-0, Entebbe UPPC host UPDF in their first game at their new home.

The hosts are boosted by the availability of Ambrose Kigozi, Isa Bugembe and Swadik Moro who missed the game at Kitende but are still without Ahmed Amayo, Grant Matsiko and Anwar Ntege who are injured.

UPDF were held to a goalless draw by premier league debutants Kataka in their opener and Hussein Mbalangu’s side will be desperate to get off the mark.
