Valverde reveals he injured Zidane’s son in training

Federico Valverde has opened up about an unusual and worrying aspect of his powerful playing style. Known for his long-range strikes and physical intensity at Real Madrid, the midfielder admitted that his shots have occasionally caused injuries during training sessions — including one involving Luca Zidane.

“I’m not bragging, I’m not the Hulk, but it has often happened to me in training that I’ve injured one or two goalkeepers,” he revealed. “I injured Luca Zidane’s shoulder. I was devastated, I thought they were going to fire me. I injured Zidane’s son.”

Despite his modest tone, Valverde acknowledged that the sheer power of his shots has caused multiple shoulder injuries to goalkeepers over time, even joking about his physique: “I have really skinny legs, I don’t know where I get that from.”
