Warri Stadium Reconstruction Will Attract Global Investors – Dr. Drew Uyi

FIFA-licensed football agent, Dr. Drew Uyi, has praised the Delta State Government and the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Onoriode Oborevwori, for the ongoing reconstruction of the Warri Township Stadium, describing it as a project capable of attracting global investors and boosting the state’s sports economy.

Speaking during a live television programme on Delta Television Asaba, the London-based agent commended the vision and commitment of the state government in transforming the Warri Township Stadium into a world-class facility.

Dr. Uyi noted that the scale and quality of work at the stadium reflect a deliberate effort by the government to position Delta State prominently on the global football map.

He highlighted key features of the project, including modern pitch technology, upgraded spectator facilities, improved security architecture, and enhanced media infrastructure, all of which align with international best practices.

According to him, the development is not only about football but also about economic growth, as modern stadium infrastructure can serve as a hub for investments, sponsorships, and international sporting events.

He stressed that facilities of such standard naturally attract global brands, corporate partnerships, and sports tourism.

The FIFA agent further applauded the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, describing his role as instrumental in driving the project through the Delta State Sports Commission.

He said the collaboration between the commission and technical experts has ensured that the stadium meets FIFA compliance standards and is capable of hosting top-tier matches.

Dr. Uyi emphasized that beyond hosting games, the stadium has the potential to unlock commercial opportunities such as naming rights, sponsorship deals, and international tournaments, thereby creating jobs and boosting the local economy.

He added that the Warri Stadium project is a strategic move that will not only benefit Delta State but also contribute to Nigeria’s global football reputation, noting that such infrastructure can attract investors looking to tap into Africa’s growing sports market.

The sports brand strategist concluded by urging sustained investment in sports infrastructure across Nigeria, stating that projects like the Warri Township Stadium are key to long-term development, youth engagement, and international recognition.
