Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa FC have been drawn into Group B of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B qualifying tournament, which will be staged in Burkina Faso.
The Techiman-based side will face a challenging group featuring Côte d’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosas, Edo Queens FC of Nigeria and AS Garde Nationale du Niger.
The draw places Ampem Darkoa alongside three clubs from across the WAFU-B zone, setting up a competitive battle for qualification to the next stage of Africa’s premier women’s club competition.
ASEC Mimosas bring considerable pedigree from Côte d’Ivoire, while Nigeria’s Edo Queens will provide another major test for the Ghanaian champions. AS Garde Nationale du Niger complete a group that promises to offer little room for error.
Ampem Darkoa will be aiming to make the most of their opportunity on the continental stage after securing Ghana’s representation in the WAFU-B qualifiers.
The ultimate prize is a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League, with the WAFU-B qualifiers serving as the pathway for clubs in the zone to earn a place in the continental tournament.
With the draw now confirmed, attention will turn to preparations as Ampem Darkoa begin their campaign against three ambitious opponents.
The Ghanaian champions will need consistency, discipline and strong performances across the group if they are to emerge as one of the teams competing for qualification.
The 2026 WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers in Burkina Faso are therefore set to provide Ampem Darkoa with another opportunity to showcase the strength of Ghanaian women’s club football on the continental stage.
