South Africa fell during the second day of the Hopman Cup mixed held in Perth, Australia. South Africans have been dominated by the United States (2 -1).
In singles, Venus Williams beat Chanelle Scheepers (4-6, 6-2, 6-3). The two formed-Venus Williams John Isner won ahead the South Africans (6-3-62). The South African point was obtained by Kevin Anderson to John Isner (7-6, 7-6).
During the first day, South Africa had lost to Spain (1-2). Kevin Anderson had the best ahead of Spaniard Fernando Verdasco (7-5,6-4) while her compatriot Chanelle Scheepers had been severely beaten by Anabel Medina Garrigues (2-6, 4-6). Spain won the mixed doubles (6-4, 6-7, 10-8).
The third day is scheduled for January 4. The representative of Africa face France. Kevin Anderson will face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Charnelle Scheepers in Mathilde Johannsson.
