La Liga side Atletico Madrid have announced the signing of Julian Alvarez from Manchester City with the Argentinean World champion coming as the new superstar of Diego Simeone’s team.
The 24-year refused to spend a third season as Erling Haaland back-up striker at Etihad Stadium where Pep Guardiola is not ready to make of him his number 1 goal-getter.
Alvarez then agreed to join Atletico Madrid which won the race to ign him ahead of Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
“Atlético de Madrid and Manchester City have reached an agreement for the transfer of Julián Alvarez, who has signed for the club until 2030”, the Colchoneros’ statement reads.
