Tonight, Real Madrid and Atalanta will compete for the UEFA Super Cup, the customary season opener in Europe.

Los Blancos recovered the Champions League by defeating Borussia Dortmund in June, while the Serie A side surprised Bayer Leverkusen to win the Europa League in Dublin.

The two now meet in Warsaw to compete for the Super Cup, with Madrid hoping to capture their first title since Kylian Mbappe arrived.

These teams have only met once before, in the 2020-21 Champions League round of 16, when Ferland Mendy scored a late winner in Italy before Madrid won 3-1 in Spain.
