French coach Patrice Beaumelle has emerged as one of the names being considered for the vacant Ghana national team coaching position.
Beaumelle has reportedly been proposed for the Black Stars job as the Ghana Football Association weighs its options for the next head coach. His candidacy adds an experienced figure with a strong background in African football to the list of potential successors.
The 47 year old Frenchman has considerable experience on the continent, having previously managed the national teams of Ivory Coast, Zambia and Angola.
Beaumelle first gained prominence in African football as an assistant coach with Ivory Coast before taking charge of Zambia. He later returned to the Ivory Coast setup as head coach and subsequently managed Angola.
His familiarity with African football, coupled with his experience working with national teams, could make him an attractive option for Ghana as the GFA assesses the qualities required to lead the Black Stars.
The Ghanaian football authorities are expected to consider several candidates before making a final decision, with the new coach facing the task of rebuilding the national team and delivering improved performances on the international stage.
For now, Beaumelle remains among the names under consideration, with no final decision yet taken on the next Black Stars head coach.
