Barcelona youngster Hamza Abdelkarim has named Trabzonspor star Mohamed Salah as his role model, describing the Egyptian captain as an inspiration for players across the country.
The young forward spoke highly of Salah’s influence on his career and revealed that the former Liverpool star has continued to offer him advice, even after his move to Barcelona.
“Can I consider Salah as my role model? Yes, for all of Egypt, and for every Egyptian player,” Abdelkarim said.
According to the youngster, Salah has remained in contact with him and regularly shares advice during training camps.
“He always talks to me, even during training camp. Honestly, everything he tells me is something I have to learn from,” he added.
Abdelkarim also highlighted Salah’s remarkable work ethic as one of the biggest lessons he can take from the veteran forward.
“We all know Salah didn’t reach this level by chance. He worked extremely hard, and that’s something I can learn from,” he said.
With Salah having established himself among the leading African players in world football, Abdelkarim hopes to follow a similar path as he begins his own journey at Barcelona.
