Osimhen Returns to Training Ahead of Kasımpaşa, Barcelona Tests

Galatasaray have received a major boost with Victor Osimhen returning to partial team training as the Nigerian striker steps up his recovery from a groin injury.

Osimhen joined his teammates during part of the club’s training session as Galatasaray prepare for Friday’s Turkish Süper Lig meeting with Kasımpaşa at Rams Park.

The 27-year-old had been sidelined after suffering a right adductor injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir on September 4.

Osimhen scored in that match before being forced off in the 33rd minute. Subsequent medical examinations revealed an advanced-moderate strain with bleeding in the right adductor muscle group.

His latest involvement in training is therefore an encouraging development for both Galatasaray and the Super Eagles.

Osimhen did not yet complete the entire training session with the squad.

The Nigerian forward participated in the opening stages of the workout, including the warm-up, passing drills and possession exercises, before switching to an individual programme under the supervision of Galatasaray’s medical staff.

The cautious approach is aimed at ensuring that Osimhen regains full fitness without suffering a setback.

Galatasaray’s medical team is continuing to monitor his progress, with further tests expected to determine whether he can feature against Kasımpaşa.

Club chief medical officer Yener İnce said the decision would be based on the results of the latest assessments, while confirming that Osimhen’s recovery is progressing well.

While Osimhen could make his competitive return against Kasımpaşa on Friday, Galatasaray are also keeping one eye on their UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona on October 13.
