Gernot Rohr Laments Argentina’s Lack of Post-Match Gesture to Benin

Benin head coach Gernot Rohr has expressed his disappointment over what he described as a lack of hospitality from Argentina following their recent international friendly.

Rohr said the only negative aspect of the encounter was the treatment Benin received after the match, claiming that Argentina did not offer his players any jerseys or opportunities to take photographs with Lionel Messi.

“The only dark spot is that the Argentinians didn’t give us anything. Not a photo of Messi, not a jersey,” Rohr said after the game.

The German coach also revealed that Benin’s players and staff were prevented from accessing the tunnel area after the match, with security personnel restricting movement around the stadium.

“They didn’t even let us into the tunnel; security was refusing everyone,” Rohr added.

Rohr’s comments focused on what he considered an unusual experience for his team after sharing the pitch with the world champions and Messi.
