Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC have been crowned the 2025/26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League champions after a dramatic final day that saw the title race decided in the closing stages of the season.
The championship battle went down to the final matchday with simultaneous fixtures played at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru and Kawempe Muslim Secondary School Ground.
She Corporate FC needed victory to secure the title but were held to a goalless draw by She Maroons FC at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. FUFA Executive Committee Member Richard Barente presented the individual awards MVP, Top Scorer and Golden Glove.
Meanwhile, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC produced a commanding display to defeat Olila High School WFC 3-1 at Kawempe Muslim Secondary School Ground. Goals from Jovia Nakagolo, Agnes Nabukenya and Latifah Nakasi sealed victory for Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC while Mary Lotyang scored the consolation for Olila High School WFC.
With She Corporate FC dropping points, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC climbed to the top of the table to clinch the league title.Victory saw Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC finish the season with 52 points while She Corporate FC settled for second place on 51 points. The triumph capped off a consistent campaign for Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, who had also finished the first round at the summit with 28 points.
Their dominance over closest challengers She Corporate FC was further highlighted by completing a league double after winning both home and away fixtures. Throughout the season, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC displayed resilience, consistency and composure in decisive moments to secure a deserved championship.
This marks the sixth league title in the history of Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and their second since the competition was renamed the FUFA Women Super League in 2019.
FUFA 2nd Vice President Dr. Azah Taibu presided over the trophy handover ceremony alongside FUFA Executive Committee Member Rogers Mulindwa, Deputy Head Teacher of Kawempe Muslim Secondary School Ahmed Ssengoba, and Finance Trust Bank Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs Percy Lubega.
In a special moment during the celebrations, three-time league champion Nazizi Florence delivered the trophy to the podium ahead of the official crowning ceremony.
