Congo: Claude Le Roy to welcome Omar Daf to his staff

The Ministry of Sports and the Congolese Soccer Federation (FECOFOOT) have officially announced the appointment of legendary French coach Claude Le Roy as head coach of the Red Devils.

For this new term, which will focus on rebuilding the team, the White Wizard will be supported by former Senegalese international Omar Daf, who has been named assistant coach.

The choice of Omar Daf brings significant added value and true rigor to the coaching staff.

Drawing on his extensive experience gained on the benches of renowned French clubs (Amiens SC, Dijon FCO, FC Sochaux) and his international experience as a former assistant coach with the Senegal national team, the Franco-Senegalese coach will bring his top-level expertise to this new sporting project.

This experienced duo has been entrusted with a clear mission by the country’s sports authorities: to launch a new era focused on restructuring the national team, developing local talent, and restoring discipline.

The primary objective for Claude Le Roy and Omar Daf will be to rebuild a competitive squad in order to secure qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
