The 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season will begin on August 28, with Shooting Stars hosting newly promoted Inter Lagos in the opening fixture at the Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan.
The opening-day clash was confirmed at the NPFL Annual General Meeting and fixtures draw held ahead of the new campaign.
Nine-time champions Rangers International will begin their season at home against Katsina United, while Ikorodu City will entertain newly promoted Ranchers Bees.
Elsewhere, Abia Warriors will face Kun Khalifat, while Barau FC and Nasarawa United will meet in a northern derby.
Bendel Insurance will host Warri Wolves in Benin, with Rivers United taking on Plateau United. Kwara United will welcome Kano Pillars to the Ilorin Township Stadium.
Niger Tornadoes will entertain nine-time champions Enyimba, while Doma United will face Sporting Lagos.
The Shooting Stars versus Inter Lagos encounter will be played on August 28, with the remaining opening-week fixtures scheduled for August 30.
