Nigeria has secured the hosting rights for two of African football’s biggest events later this year, underlining the country’s growing influence within the continental game.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2026 CAF Awards will be staged at the National Theatre in Lagos, while the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly will take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The CAF Awards will bring together Africa’s biggest football stars, coaches, administrators and dignitaries to celebrate outstanding achievements across the continent.
The ceremony is expected to attract global attention as the continent honours its best performers in both men’s and women’s football.

In addition, Abuja will welcome football administrators from across Africa for the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly.
