Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou has a fresh injury concern with vice captain Cristian Romero set to be sidelined for the next ‘four or five weeks’.
Romero, who was forced off at half-time in Spurs’ 2-1 win over Everton on Saturday with an issue, was pictured during the second period sitting with an ice pack under his left thigh.
And, after a scan this week, Ange has confirmed the defender picked up an injury that will see him sidelined for at least the next month.
“No, no. He’s no good. He’s had a scan, so he’ll be out for four or five weeks,” Ange confirmed. “Everyone else got through it okay. There’s a few sore bodies there but we’ve had a, sort of, easier training week, last few days anyway, but everyone else is okay.”
One player who will be a new option for Ange though is Destiny Udogie, who is available for selection once again after completing his one-match ban.
James Maddison, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ashley Phillips and Micky van de Ven are long-term absentees and remain out of action.
