Transfers DONE DEAL: Zambia’s Kelvin Kapumbu Joins Hapoel Petah Tikva

Zambia national team fullback Kelvin Kapumbu has signed with Hapoel Petah Tikva until the end of the season, with an option for an additional year.

The 28-year-old, who has made 30 appearances in the Zambian league since 2019, is set to arrive in Israel next week to begin training. “I’m happy to start a new chapter in my career and join Hapoel Petah Tikva,” said Kapumbu. “Looking forward to meeting my new teammates and starting work.”

Kapumbu began his senior career with Zanaco in the Zambia Super League in 2016, and after a season moved to Lumwana Radiants for two seasons, before returning to Zanaco. On August 3, 2022, he moved to Zesco United on a two-year contract and was named player of the season for Zesco United for the 2022–23 season.

He debuted with the senior Zambia national team in a 1-0 2020 African Nations Championship qualification win over Eswatini on September 22, 2019 and was part of the Zambia team that won the 2022 COSAFA Cup. He was called up to the national team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
