AFCON Qualifiers: Namibia gets Cameroon, Comoros and Congo

The 2027 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers draw was conducted on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt, at 14h00, with forty-eight (48) nations drawn into 12 groups of four teams each.

The top two teams from each group will qualify automatically for the continental showpiece, while groups containing one of the co-host nations will see an additional team progress to the finals. The 2027 AFCON tournament will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in June 2027.

Namibia was drawn in Group G alongside Cameroon, Comoros and Congo Brazzaville, setting up what promises to be a competitive qualifying campaign for the Brave Warriors.

Namibia will be hoping to continue their recent progress on the continental stage after impressive performances in previous AFCON campaigns, with supporters expected to rally behind the Brave Warriors as they begin another journey towards Africa’s biggest football tournament.
