Habib Beye Leaves Marseille as Club Confirms End of Collaboration

French giants Olympique de Marseille have officially announced the departure of head coach Habib Beye, bringing an end to his brief spell at the club.

In a short statement, Marseille confirmed the decision, saying: “Olympique de Marseille announces the end of its collaboration with Habib Beye. The Club thanks Habib Beye and wishes him all the best for the rest of his career.”

The 48-year-old was appointed following the dismissal of Roberto De Zerbi, who was relieved of his duties after Marseille suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat to bitter rivals Rennes. Beye took charge after leaving Rennes and signed an 18-month contract that was due to keep him at the club until the middle of 2027.

Beye arrived with a growing reputation in French football after beginning his senior managerial career with Red Star FC. Initially appointed on an interim basis, he impressed enough to earn the role permanently and went on to spend three seasons at the club.

Marseille have not yet announced who will succeed Beye as they begin preparations for the upcoming campaign, while the former defender now becomes one of the most experienced managers available on the market.
