CAF Unveils 2026/27 Champions League and Confederation Cup Calendar

The Confederation of African Football has officially announced the match calendar for the 2026/27 editions of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, with the continent’s premier club competitions set to begin in September 2026.

The new campaign will kick off with the first preliminary round, as first-leg matches are scheduled for 4–6 September 2026, before the return fixtures take place from 11–13 September. Clubs that advance will contest the second preliminary round, with first legs slated for 16–18 October and the decisive return matches to be played between 23–25 October 2026.

Following the completion of the qualifying rounds, attention will shift to the group stage, which begins at the end of November. Matchday One is scheduled for 27–29 November 2026, while the remaining fixtures will be played across December 2026 and January 2027. The final round of group-stage matches is set for 22–24 January 2027.

The knockout rounds will commence with the quarter-finals in late February and early March 2027, before the semi-finals are staged in April. The finals of both competitions will then be played during the period 9–31 May 2027, bringing the continental club season to a close.

CAF also confirmed that the prize money introduced in recent seasons will remain unchanged. The winners of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will receive USD 6 million, while the champions of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will earn USD 4 million.

The announcement provides clubs across Africa with a clear roadmap for the upcoming campaign as they prepare to compete for continental glory in the 2026/27 season.
