Arsenal have opened discussions with Galatasaray over a potential move for Victor Osimhen as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attack. The Gunners had initially targeted Atlético Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, but the Spanish club’s demands have pushed them to explore other options.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal and Galatasaray have already made initial contact, although the London club has not submitted an official offer yet. Arteta has reportedly made Osimhen a priority as Arsenal aim to take another step forward in Europe.
Arsenal and Galatasaray discuss three deals
The talks could involve more than Osimhen. Galatasaray have shown interest in Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli and 19-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille.
Those interests have helped bring Osimhen into the discussions between the two clubs. The Nigerian striker scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 33 matches last season, and Arsenal now hope to convince both Galatasaray and the player.
The Turkish club reportedly wants to recover its investment in Osimhen, who has a contract until 2029, while Arsenal believe they can complete the deal this summer.
