From this Friday, April 5 till to 12 nearly 1,000 racing fans will meet in the Moroccan desert for the 2013 edition of the Marathon des Sables. a competition that brings together competitors from 20 to 76 years. The race is divided into six stages, one untimed of 7 km. All for a total distance of 223, 8 km.

One of the novelties of the 2013 edition is the stage called “Charity” in favor of the United Nations Fund for Children (UNICEF). Since 1997, the competition organized by Patrick Bauer, founder of the Solidarity Marathon des Sables association is sponsored by King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

The succession of the Jordanian Salameh Al Aqra (on the right) winner of the 2012 edition is launched.
