Tanzania Simba SC unveil new kit sponsor ahead of new season

Tanzanian Premier League giants Simba SC have secured a lucrative shirt sponsorship deal worth 4bn/- ahead of the new campaign.

During the launch ceremony, it was confirmed the Wekundu wa Msimbazi will be pocketing 2bn/- annually from Sandaland Fashion Wear, who already presented a dummy cheque of 2bn/-. Simba’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Salim Abdallah appealed to the new kit sponsor to always ensure quality, quantity, and timely availability of the jerseys plus merchandise.

“We thank our previous kit sponsor [Vunjabei] for a commendable job he did but Simba fans have been complaining about poor quality and delays of Jerseys to reach the market. We do not want this to resurface,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Almas Kasongo hailed Simba for the deal and challenged other clubs in the top flight to borrow a leaf.

“This is what we want to see in our football happening…and when I was named the board’s CEO, one of my priorities was revenue generation by clubs and I am happy to witness Simba doing it practically,” Kasongo said, adding: “What they [Simba] have done will shape the country’s football landscape and other teams should borrow a leaf by sourcing their own kit and merchandise sponsors to go along with modern football.”
