Bundesliga Ralf Rangnick turns down Bayern Munich offer, commits to Austria

Ralf Rangnick who was in talks with Bayern Munich over the last few days to take over from ongoing Thomas Tuchel, has finally tuned down the Bundesliga side’s attempt to sign him.

Rangnick joined Austrian national team as head coach in 2023 and managed to qualify them for he upcoming Euros from June 14 to July 14.

He has a contract until 2025 with Austria but it has been recently reported that he could leave his job with Bayern Munich official’s desire to acquire his services. But after round of talks, he has decided to turn down the opportunity and be focused on Austria.

“I’m the Austrian team coach with all my heart”, he said in a statement.

“I really enjoy this task and am determined to successfully continue on our chosen path.

“I would like to expressly emphasise that this is not a rejection of Bayern, but rather a decision for my team and our common goals. Our full concentration is on the Euros. We will do everything we can to get as far as possible.”

Ralf Rangnick is not the first coach to turn down Bayern in their quest to fin Thomas Tuchel as Julian Nagelsmann also did so few weeks ago when he has been approached to come back to their bench.
