CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CAFCC: Gomes Promises Better Preparation Against RS Berkane

Zamalek coach Jose Gomes has attributed his team loss in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup to poor starting.

Zamalek suffered a 2-1 loss to RS Berkane in Morocco on Sunday at the Municipal Stadium.

The home team got off to a fantastic start as captain Issoufou Dayo converted a penalty kick in the 13th minute before Adil Tahif then scored a second goal in the 32nd minute.

However, Seifeddine Jaziri headed in a cross from Ahmed Zizo to give Zamalek a goal awwy from home ahead of the second leg.

Coach Gomes in his post-match Conference expressed his disappointment and said they would need to be well prepared for the return leg in Cairo.

“I am not happy with the way we started the game and not happy with how we conceded goals.

“I can’t say we played badly, but we didn’t play as we wanted.

“We prepared well for this game to come and win.

” Now we will have to prepare for the next game in Cairo, and we hope for a better game”, said Gomes.
