Transfers Giroud Sign For LAFC From AC Milan

Olivier Giroud has officially joined Major League Soccer LA Football Club after his contract expires with AC Milan at the end of the season on Monday.

Giroud will depart AC Milan at the end of the current campaign.

After spending three years with the Serie A powerhouse Milan, Giroud, the all-time leading scorer for France, is anticipated to sign with Los Angeles FC, where his former Les Bleus teammate Hugo Lloris already plays.

“I will be playing my final two matches with Milan and will continue my career in the MLS,” Giroud said in an interview published on social media by the club.

“I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved at Milan in the last three years. My time with Milan might be finishing this year but the club will remain in my heart.”

Giroud left Chelsea to join Milan in the summer of 2021, and in his first season with the seven-time European winners, he won the Serie A championship.

The 37-year-old, who won the 2018 World Cup with France, has scored 48 goals for Milan in all competitions, including 16 this season in advance of the German tournament in 2024.

In two weeks, Milan will play their last game of the season at the San Siro, where he will bid farewell to the supporters.
