Premier League Fulham Defeat Relegated Luton At Kenilworth Road

Fulham won 4-2 at Kenilworth Road, with Harry Wilson scoring and providing two assists to confirm Luton’s relegation from the Premier League.

Adama Traore scored the scoring after 43 minutes, but there was still time for Carlton Morris to equalise from the penalty spot before the break, followed by Raul Jimenez to restore the visitors’ lead.

Jimenez added a second early in the second half to put his team in command, and when Alfie Doughty equalised, the influential Wilson netted the winner to cap an amazing individual display.

Marco Silva started a rotated Fulham team that struggled to get going in the first half.

Luton capitalised on the carelessness of the Cottagers, and a lovely chipped pass from Daiki Hashioka found the unmarked Morris, who attempted a shot inside the six-yard line that was sent at Bernd Leno’s chest.

Fulham’s only contribution came from Wilson’s curling strike that flew past the left post as Luton kept attacking their goal.

Center-back Hashioka continued to display his offensive prowess with an attempt that Fulham’s players hurriedly scampered away after Jordan Clark’s half-volley just missed the mark.

Following Tahith Chong’s strike that was disallowed for offside, Fulham came to life and had their best opportunity.

With a floating cross to Jimenez’s head, the quick-witted Traore sped down the left, but the Mexico international nodded wide.

Still, the opener did not need the visitors to wait too long.

Wilson sent a ball between the lines to Traore, who curled a shot to find the corner.

After Calvin Bassey pulled down Chiedozie Ogbene in the area, Luton moved quickly after the restart and were given a penalty.

With a 12-yard strike that sent Leno the wrong way, Morris scored his tenth of the year.

However, as was characteristic of the back-and-forth game, Fulham added another goal just before halftime to make the score 2-1.

Wilson managed to go past the Hatters’ back three before Jimenez finished his pull-back on the first try.

Jimenez helped the Cottagers maintain their lead after the interval.

An indirect free-kick from Harrison Reed was inch-perfect, as the powerful attacker flicked his header beyond the defenceless Thomas Kaminski.

Luton full-back Six minutes later, Doughty equalised with a powerful shot that caught Leno off guard.

However, Wilson’s incredible performance reached a new level when he repeated the feat, sending the ball into the upper corner from outside to secure the win for Wales.
