Africa Soccer WAFU B U17: Burkina Faso Send Togo Packing

After falling to Burkina Faso 0–2 in the WAFU Zone B competition on Sunday in Accra, Togo was knocked out of the 2025 U17 AFCON qualifiers.

Togo’s lacklustre first-half performance and Burkina Faso’s stronger second-half play sealed their doom despite their best attempts.

Asharaf Tapsoba’s goal in the 60th minute solidified Burkina Faso’s lead thanks to the young Stallions’ unrelenting pushing and well-coordinated play.

At the University of Ghana Stadium, Burkina Faso’s late second goal put an end to any chances of a Togolese comeback.

Although Togo is disappointed to be eliminated, they should be proud of their performance and work to get better in contests in the future.

Burkina Faso, in contrast, looks ready to build on their strong performance thus far in the competition.
