Doma United defeated Lobi Stars 1-0 in a critical NPFL encounter, marking their first home win in the second stanza and increasing their struggle to avoid relegation.

Despite their strong start, they struggled to capitalise on the possibilities that arose.

The first meaningful attempt of the game came early on, when Usman Musa picked up the ball in the centre and advanced towards the goal before firing a long-range drive that went wide.

Bidemi Owoku then attempted a left-footed shot from outside the box, but the Lobi Stars custodian was well-positioned to make the stop.

Lobi Stars also had chances, coming close to scoring in the 18th minute, but Doma United’s custodian, Kingdom Osayi, made an important save to deny the striker.

Doma United’s breakthrough came when Bidemi Owoku sprinted past his opponent on the right flank and sent a precise cross that Usman Musa easily headed in, putting the hosts ahead.

Lobi Stars almost equalised in the 70th minute, but Osayi was alert again, pushing the ball over for a corner kick.

Despite Lobi Stars’ late push, Doma United’s defence stood solid, securing a crucial home victory. Samuel Matthew and Charles Terwar were both booked during the bout.

At the same time, Doma United made many substitutes, replacing Hillary Ekawu, Charles Terwar, Emmanuel Jesam, and Usman Musa with Abubakar Abdullahi, Jacob Manga, Samuel Enefiok, and Tijani Kabiru, respectively.

Doma United will focus on their next away game against Heartland in Owerri next weekend, hoping to continue on this momentum and escape relegation.
